stand your ground

Hart Decor Theater’s Stand Your Ground sessions develop the actor’s ability to ‘Stand Their Ground’ and ‘Take Space’.

Hart Decor Theater director Jonathan Geenen will lead the working sessions. Every session will include a practical exploration by a ‘special guest’ who will share their practice and offer insight to their pursuit of excellence (regardless of form).  Jonathan’s unique teaching style borrows from a variety of doctrines geared towards developing confidence and ease in presentation.

Together, we will imagine, re-imagine and contextualize the circumstances that draw and persuade us as individuals to communicate through performance. Whether preparing for an audition, a rehearsal or an audience, these working sessions will keep your instincts sharp and your instrument tuned.

Special guest on Saturday November 9th, 2019 was Pablo Fontdevila

Pablo Fontdevila – Choreographer, performer and designer, born in Argentina. Graduated from the School for New Dance Development (SNDO, Amsterdam, NL). With the focus on creative processes, collaboration and working methodologies, his interest lies on exploring ethical questions through the movement of bodies and minds.

Next to the development and performance of his own choreographic work Pablo has worked as a lighting designer for dance, opera, theater and music concerts in The Netherlands and Argentina, touring Europe extensively. Among other artists, he sustains long term collaborations with choreographers Diego Gil, Yurie Umamoto, Simon Tanguy and director Anouke de Groot.

His current work is expanding towards the development of interactive and performative installations. In his contributions to diverse projects he aims at researching complex relations between bodies, objects, lights and space.

His experience is complemented with regular teaching activities such as Movement research workshops (Buenos Aires, México City, Tokyo, Tucumán), Yoga and Condition training (SNDO, Amsterdam). He initiated in 2011, in collaboration with Maria Mavridou, the development of “DM/Dangerous Mouses”, a training and research movement practice which since has been shared in workshops and regular classes in The Netherlands, Argentina, Greece, South Korea and France.
